Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is
undertaking a multimillion-dollar, multiyear response
to the earthquake that struck
Haiti Jan. 12. You
can help through prayer for the people of Haiti and
by donating to MCC’s Haiti Earthquake appeal. In
addition, MCC is asking for donations of 20,000
relief kits, 10,000 heavy comforters and 10,000
sheets for shipment now through Feb. 28. Donation
checks may be made out to First MB
with“MCC-Haiti” in the memo line. Find instructions
for donating relief kits, comforters and sheets at
mcc.org/kits or call the MCC office at
316-283-2720 for more information. Relief kits can
be dropped off in the church office for
transportation to the MCC office.

Options for Haiti Relief
In addition to the funds and relief kits our church is
collecting, you can help provide comforters and
blankets for Haiti. New, twin-size are preferred but
double/full-size are accepted. Our First MB quilters
have volunteered to make comforters. They need
heavy-weight fabric (polyester, denim, even old
jeans are welcome) and crochet cotton. Contact Jill
Alpers at 773-9152 to donate or bring to the
church office. Funds are also being collected for
school kits for the children of Haiti. To donate,
write MCC school kits in the memo line of your
check and drop it in the offering.
