Ministries Kids |
At First Mennonite Brethren Church (FMBC), kids matter! Our ministries are designed to impact children with the message of Christ's love and salvation, to help them grow in knowledge and faith, and to encourage discovery of their uniqueness in service to Christ. It is our prayer that FMBC children will become lifelong followers of Jesus and "shine like stars in the universe as they hold out the word of life."” |

Lessons include Families, God Made Me, Baby Jesus and Creation. Ages 4 thru Kindergarten Teaching Times 9:45 & 11:00 a.m. Location - E-Hall The Pray & Play Bible and concepts from Godly Play curriculum will be used to teach children to discover God through learning key Bible stories from the Old and New Testament. Structured class time includes a Bible story taught with visual aids and manipulatives, questions to ponder, craft/art work, snack, Bible memory, finger plays, poems and singing. Children will be encouraged to bring offering money for children who are aids victims in South Africa and are ministered to through Home Health Care Mission. Grades 1-6 Teaching Times 9:45 & 11:00 a.m. Location: E-Hall 252 Basic Curriculum is designed to teach kids a spiritual virtue each month such as trust or humility – characteristics of God. In Luke 2:52 we find that Jesus grew in “wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.” This is our goal for our children as well. In small group settings the children explore various Biblical skills, virtue application, scripture memory verses, and prayer with their small group leader. In a large group setting, a master storyteller shares a virtue-related Bible story in creative ways. The gospel message of Jesus’ saving grace is woven in the lessons throughout the year. Children will be encouraged to bring offering money for children who are aids victims in South Africa and are ministered to through Home Health Care Ministry. |
Wednesday Evenings KidsZone..... Grades 1-6 Teaching Times - 6:45 - 8:00 pm Location - Amphitheater/E-Hall 1st – 5th grade kids begin the evening in large group worship and teaching time in the amphitheater. 6th graders meet separately in E-3. Through the curriculum Is Christ Really God, written by Josh McDowell, all kids will be guided to know why Christ is who He claims to be and build their faith on true foundations through teaching, fun activities, games, interaction and a workbook. We pray that our leaders will be able to lead kids to a face-to-face encounter with the transforming Christ. Bible memory & Bible skills will continue to be emphasized, as well as earning KZ Bucks to be spent at the KZ store on fun stuff as well as on food items for the “Food 4 Kids” backpack program for the Kansas Food Bank. |
