PrimeTimers with Larry Hatteberg

On Thursday, August 14, at 10:00 a.m. you can come and learn more about the production of Hatteberg's People seen on KAKE TV for many years. Larry will be with us in person to share the story of his stories of "Real" Kan-sans. This will also be our annual birthdays celebration. We will enjoy lunch around 11:30 at $3.00 per person. Sign up in the foyer and pay at the event.

Who are the PrimeTimers?

The name PRIMETIMERS reflects the idea that adults who are 55 and over have both self worth and significance in God's eyes and are known as 'Builders and Boomers' in our culture.

PrimeTimers view the present as a time of reflection, learning, service and renewal.

PrimeTimers promote these goals:

  • Live Well
  • Laugh Often
  • Love Much
  • Learn MOre
  • Lean Hard

During this time of life they have an opportunity to use their gifts and contribute through experience, skills, knowledge, and other resources they have developed over the years.

  • Growing old is mandatory
  • Growing up is optional

What do PrimeTimers offer you?

  • Regular gatherings, sometimes including a meal, that emphasize enrichment, fellowship and celebration
  • Special get-togethers that focus on seasonal events
  • Day trips and recreational activities
  • Service opportunities
  • Monthly hymn sings
  • Bible classes and small groups
  • 55 Plus Retreats (local and conference-wide) gatherings
  • Communications via mailings, emails, phone messages and prayer chains

When should you become a PrimeTimer?

We intend to be for those 55 and over! However, age limits are not central to our mission. Feel free to explore being part of our groups, or to attend our gatherings when you think you want to belong - and even while you still deny your age!

What is our Mission?

  • Fellowship: To meet emotional, social and spiritual needs of older adults.
  • Ministry: To encourage PrimeTimers to become more involved in the life of the church as well as to volunteer for service opportunities.
  • Discipleship: To stimulate and inspire personal spiritual growth towards maturity in Jesus Christ.
  • Outreach: To share God's love with unchurched older adults.
